The Value of Sensory Play

Sensory play helps to strengthen the brain’s neural pathways and connections, leading to greater learning potential. Sensory activities will stimulate and heighten the following senses:

  • Touch

  • Smell

  • Sight

  • Taste

  • Sound

  • Vestibular (balance)

  • Proprioception (body control)

Incorporating sensory play into pretend play activities promotes language development as it provides an opportunity to strengthen comprehension for thematic vocabulary. Sensory play allows for spontaneous language opportunities which further solidifies the meaning of the language used. The more intentional we are with language use, the more effective we become as communicators.

I work with people and businesses to brighten their authenticity & uniqueness through beautiful brand design, and develop all the creative trimmings that go with it.

My sweet spot is identity design: creating visual elements through color, typography, imagery, and messaging to produce a brand that sets you apart from the other players in your industry.
